Okay everyone a very very good friend of mine is getting married at Gretna Green in August. And having a blessing and party in Sept and the theme for the party is 70's 80's music, so any ideas appreciated I have been given the job of music so I need suggestions to for them to decide from and then pass them to the DJ

What songs did you dance around your handbags too? ;) Looking for songs that get people up on the dancefloor or really smoochy songs to be played towards the end of the evening.

'Vienna' - when that came out my sis-in-law kept talking about hearing the song, however, she thought the words were 'old piano' !!.

I was married in 1978, and 'our song' is the Bee Gees, How Deep is your Love.

That would be a good one for the newlyweds to have the first dance to.

My son was born in 1979 and songs I particularly remember from that time are Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles, Tusk by Fleetwood Mac and Message in a Bottle by Police.  Not very romantic though!
