I looked into one of those blasters on Ebay, and there is a pet supplier in the states selling them, but they are very expensive, so I am going to wait until Santa CLaus deems me a suitably good girl to get me one....

I have an animal dyson and its the same as a normal dyson except it has a fitment for pet hair. i found this keeps falling off but its good if you can do an inch at a time! otherwise i just take off the flat head and use the long bit it picks up most of it but you need to empty it constantly! i bought mine in currys last year but i wouldnt advise anyone to buy one- a normal dyson is just as good!

I have had the original Dyson DCO1 and now a five year old on it's last legs DCO4, is the DC07 and DCo14 much better???  I like the idea of the wider channel on the DC014

I heard the 'Henry' hoovers do a pet hair one, but haven't heard anyone on here mention that they have one or heard any feedback, so I am not sure if it is effective or not (and it is cheaper than Dyson...)

Henrys are ok, but not meant for carpets aparently!!!!!
I have one (got it as an xmas pressie!!!!) But it wont hoover one of the kids bedrooms carpet, it just will not pick up the bits. It is better on shorter piile carpets. But the suction is great on it esp[ecially for doing round the edges of rooms!!!!!! And alot better than alot of the cheaper makes are!!
I still want an upright tho!!!!!

I didn't realise they weren't designed to hoover carpets! I know originally they were designed as industrial hoovers (for use in cleaning commerical sites like offices) but it seems silly if they are not designed to hoover carpets. A bit like a chocolate tea pot really...!

Thats what I thought when I rudely got told it by someone when I went to buy some more bags for it!!!!!!
Incidentaly cheapest ones I have found for them are from Asda!!!!!!

Well for the edges of my carpet I bought a value vacuum cleaner (a little cylinder one) from Tesco . It doesn't have bags to replace , just empty the bag and wash it now and again :D
