I am looking for a special weekend away for next month to celebrate my **th birthday :)
Does anyone have any fantastic ideas? Have been to Barcelona and totally loved it but looking for other gorgeous places if anyone has any suggestions :D

Ooh yes, Venice!

I thought Rome was much nicer then Venice.  I obviously missed something at Venice, I just thought it was smelly.   :D

If you do decide on Rome, we did it ourselves with a flight from Ryan Air, (very cheap) and a nice hotel.  Would not try and find our own way from the airport to the hotel again, splash out on a taxi.

Went to Barcelona for our Honeymoon :D It was cracking ! :D

I would try Dublin :) It is supposed to be a fantastic place full of life and lots of lovely Guinness and Dublin Bay Prawns, Mmmmmm :D

Yes it is on the top three places we want to go to but haven't had the time yet to go :( Might try there in October for our usual Anniversary trip away :D

How about Istanbul.
Only 4 hour flight for a real culture change.
Blue Mosque, grand Bazzare, Sultans Palace, boat trip on the Bosphorus between Europe and Asia...... fantastic and so cheap.

Venice :)
I went to venice march 1st with my mum for 4 days, was our xmas present.
It was the best place i have been to in a long while. would jump at the chance to go again.
Mind you the last day we were there it snowed and boy did it snow, couldnt go at all just too heavy.
Its only smelly in the summer, i would never go then, those vaporeto buses would be jammed packed too.
As me being a smoker :( its a no smokeing island, can only smoke in the street. awful naughty habit.
