I have inherited my daughters Nokia 7250i. every saturday for 3 weeks now I get a wap service message (cant remeber exactly what it says) followed by another straight after which cost me about 3 quid in all. as soon as I click on it to open message, the credit goes. I am not sure why the message comes, although daughter did do something to download a ring tone for me. Costing me a bomb. How can I stop this any idea??
Thanks

I would think you need to find out where the message is coming from and then contact them via web and cancel the updates

Star,
To stop unwanted premium text messages you reply to the text with the words STOP ALL. Nothing else in the text but those two words.
I don't know if it works the same with WAP messages, but worth a try? You could also phone your network provider and they should be able to tell you how to stop them.
Good luck,
Lesley
What is wap?
I had one yesturday that said jane has sent you a picture. Well i am jane and i didnt send it lol. dont no any other jane.
Dont you have to go on the internet to recieve it or see it?
I had a data cable with mine but have never used it yet.
I suggest getting a new sim card! My niece signed up to receiving pictures, costing her £5 a week, tried all ways to stop them but they kept coming through, contacted Virgin, who blocked all unknown numbers........which was fine for 2 weeks then they started again. She ended up getting a new number and sim card.

WAP means Wireless Application Protocol. it is the first generation of internet on phone. not full net facility tho, more like lists and text a'la Teletext. net on phones moved on since then with GPRS - General Packet Radio Signal, which gives more fuller web page style net access, with colour and pictures.

Hi yes this works the same with WAP you should get a message back saying that the messages have been stopped.
