Hi all,

I have two dogue de bordeaux..a bitch age 1 and a dog age 3.....recently my bitch has started picking at the dog...its like she wants attention and tries to play with him but he is much more laid back than her and he wont give it her so she starts growling and biting him....she has never broken the skin but he does yelp regularly, my problem is that yesterday he snapped back at her and has caused a wound on her face....she has two teeth holes and they were bleeding.  Today i have come home and her eye is swollen so i am assuming they have had a go again!

I know the bitch is starting the problems because she really annoys him and he has been so patient up to now but it seems like he has had enough of her!  She doesnt back down though and you cant even stroke him without her being jealous and growling at him!

Will she grow out of this or is there something i can do?  She goes to training and is fine with other dogs but because she is so playful and he wont play with her she doesnt like it....i cant separate them either because she goes mad when i put him out.

Any advice appreciated...i hate seeing them hurt.

You cannot risk leaving these dogs together without supervision...it can only lead to heartbreak. You need to stop her when she starts to pester him and NEVER leave them alone together.

I agree with Archer I have always had male dogs ( now I have bitches which I know can sometimes be worse) but after a certain age they began to have fights over ridiculous thing eg: get to the post first ....it would always turn into a scrap mainly noise but still scary after thier first tiff I never left them alone together and I could always tell if one had "given the eye" to the other you must always be on your guard my boys loved each other and played well together but just a silly think can turn into a full blown fight so be very careful.
