Helloo my 8 week old pup is on the barf diet, of chicken wings and mince at the mo, breeder suggested i add fish into his diet for variety, ive got some sardines, question is can i give them to him as they are, or will i need to remove the fish bones, cos they are alot smaller and sharper!??

please advice someone!?

You can give the fish as is,the bones are soft, having been pressure cooked,i think it is.

What a job, trying to pick the bones out of tinned fish(i'm assuming you've got canned sardines??) No need to worry :)

Fish is an excellent addition to a dogs diet, why dont you join and let us know how pup liked it? :)

Are the sardines tinned or fresh? If tinned, give them as they are - the bones are very soft and chalky, and perfectly safe. If they're fresh sardines I find I worry less if I chop the fish lengthwise, cutting through all the bones, because they're much sharper when fresh (I got one stuck in my throat last weekend and it was very uncomfortable).
