Does anyone know of a nice Doggy friendly beach, with a beach chalet or caravans.
Not ridiculous prices like the "Pet friendly hotels." We have always had a Dog sitter, but would love to
take the dogs with us, we used to years ago. They used to love the sea.

We are going camping for the first time a week on Saturday with the two danes and a 4man tent :D :D

Highly recommend camping.  We have a 9 man tent with just the two of us and two BCs.  They love it and we love it.  I live in South Devon but mainly go to Cornwall or North Devon.

If you dont want to camp there is a great place near Holsworthy called Eastcott Lodges that are faily reasonable.  Wooden chalets, they accept dogs and are fairly reasonable.  They have a website www.eastcottlodges.co.uk I think.  They also have a cottage as well.  It is about 15 mins away from Bude and there are plenty of beaches around that accept dogs.

Do you like camping with dogs? is it not difficult? (i'm worried to death if they don't settle)

I live on Anglesey and i can certainly reccomend our beaches and there are plenty of caravans/cottages that accept dogs.

We travel round the dog shows from June to September using some of the shows sites but in between we stay on caravan club CL site with less than 5 vans, there are a long of these sites that accept dogs and actually love having them. There are beachs for Newquay in Cornwall to Llanethly wales and Brancaster in Norfolk that are happy to let the dogs on the beach. There is also a book called Pets Weclome, I know Blakes cottage have some that accept dogs

I recently went to a Haven site i believe all but 2 of there sites except dogs. There was no problem using the beach either.
We had a great time and i didnt have to leave my little treasure at home! Also the caravans were very nice not old rubbish ones just because you have a dog with you. They also have chalets at some of there sites.
Happy holidays!!

Christine, we had a great time at Eastcott last year and hope to go back again later this year.  Granted we only had two BCs  but they loved it.  The people were really nice and the chalets were well furnished and fairly roomy but then I dont have four munsters or a CKCS or a cat to come with us!  The cats stayed at home.  We stayed in one of the smaller chalets but just loved the piece and quiet and the fact that they had put aside a whole field just for dog walking which I generally find quite rare.

Chel, I cant wait!!!  The sooner we can get up to a decent standard the better.  I love the whole thing about the shows, the idea of competing, the social side and oh yes the friendly competiveness!  Lets hope the coming training sessions do some good and hopefully my v weaves will arrive shortly.

Just got back from Norfolk,Winterton on Sea,beautiful chalet site, dog friendly, miles of sand dunes and beach, all dog friendly! in fact having a dog there is a must :D :D we have been before and will go again!
Walked around Sandringham park,Felbrigg Hall and woodlands,English Heritage sites (dogs on leads :) ) , Shire Horse centre and lots more all dog friendly people and we could have sold Spice 10x's over but wouldn't even consider it of course ;)

Went to see a Saxon settlement on the way home, only place we couldn't take Spice into, so we walked the Nature Trail and had a picnic there instead, so still enjoyed the journey home!

Is there a website for this place?  Always looking for new places to go out of Devon.  Our problem is we go somewhere the beaches are only open during the winter for the dogs and then are closed to them during the summer which is a pain and a waste of a holiday.

I thoroughly recommend them as a dog friendly place! we have now been there in Sept/Oct. June and May, had a wonderful time each trip.

This is another place we tried, when Spice was really young and it was her first experience of the sea, after which she has never looked back :D :D now we can never get her to come away from the water!
