Hi there,

I hope someone can help me.  I have a six year old Border Collie who is KC registered and about to start competing in agility classes.  He has the most amazing temperament and is a genuinely lovely dog, and comes from successful showing stock.  I have been reading and finding out quite a bit about the breed, and have now decided that mainly due to temperament, I would like to do my bit for the happy, sensible and healthy lines of dogs as I believe there are some unscrupulous people out there who are producing unsuitable dogs.  I am aware that sometimes it is a guessing game, but being smitten by my chap, I am lucky enough to know what it is like to have a very good example of the breed to live with, and would like others to be able to share that pleasure.

Anyway, if anyone out there can help me, please would you let me know how to go about starting him off as a sire and how to contact breeders who may be interested in using him with their bitches.

Many thanks, and looking forward to your replies.

when he starts proving himself in the ring, youll have lots of agility wives queing up im sure!!!!
youll need to reasearch his own lines find out what problems are in his lines & make sure any ladies do not share a common fault. whilst equally compliment his pedigree.
youll need to have him hip scored, eye tested & also hearing tested & expect any bitches to be the same.
good luck!

Hi Guest, as Michelle says, you don't do the asking, bitch owners do. So he'll have to be special in their eyes not yours, He'll always be special to you.

hip, eyes and dna testa are a must with a bc, but people wanting an agility stud would come to you if your dog proves itself in the ring aswell,
