Hi All!
Well it has been a wonderful 7 weeks with our babies and they have all been placed with the perfect families:-)

Interestingly my girl never got sick of them in the end as most bitches do because of sharp puppy teeth, weaning, etc. She just loved them SO much and spent every minute possible with them until the end. WELL here they have been gone for about a week and a half and my girl is taking all of her stuffed animals in the house and gathering them close and licking them all over as if they were here babies! She then carries a few to me and lets out very soft whimper:-( Just breaks my heart as she does any chance she gets. I am trying very hard to take her on walks and spending lots playtime.
I was wondering if any of you have experienced this same phenomenon with your girls. In all of my years I have never seen this sort of empty-nester syndrome.

Thanks!

Awwhh!!! Poor girl - she's missing them.

I think I would be inclined to treat her now, as if she is having a phantom pregnancy - cut down on the protein and size/no of meals per day that she is having, and take her toys away!!!   To quote Jeangenie, on an earlier post on phantom pregnancies :-

"You're going to have to be 'cruel to be kind' and force her out for lots of exercise, and cut her protein levels. Don't give her time to brood, but rather be very enthusiatic and public-school 'jolly-hockey-sticks' with her, and she'll be a lot happier a lot sooner.  "
