At the moment I am using BT business broadband, but as this is actually my ex OH's it will soon be going, so what I need to know is which is the best broadband ? I only really use it for the internet and to access email ( I wouldnt know how to download music etc but I suppose its a possiblity if I ever find out how :) )
What I want to know is what is best value for money (im on a tight budget :( ) and what is quickest.
thanks
Claire :)

Hi Claire,
I'm using Blueyonder from Telewest at the moment. The broadband costs me £25 per month, and I can use it as much as I want. It's very fast and also rarely falls over, so I can recommend it highly. There are, however, cheaper ones out there, but I cannot comment on those.
Cheers

I use ONetel - have a very good deal with them - unlimited phone calls, mobile AND unlimited broadband - all for £39 per month!!! Even my phone calls to Hong Kong are only 7p per minute!

AOL do unlimited broadband for £17.99 a month - no setup, free modem and no download limits - been using them for years (inc broadband for a few yrs now and no problems) If you have any broadband questions feel free 2 ask or PM me

I use Freedom2Surf ...the best BB is not necessarily the cheapest or the easiest to set up ;) Depends on how much you use it and what the ratio rate is and all sorts of things :) Also what speed you want ...we are on a 2mg line ...unlimited costs more than limited normally ......

I use AOL for £17.99 per month too. I have no problems with it and think it is good value as it is unlimited.

We use Plusnet and have been really happy with it.

I'm with freedom2surf too and think it's great - good speeds, instant connection and problems are very rare. I found it very easy to set up. The price isn't the lowest, but nor is it the highest and imo its well worth it for a problem free, fast service.

We have NTL its also 17.99 per month and we have had no problems there is no download limit we use is most days every day as my son is taught at home so we use the internet for a lot of his research

I use Blueyonder Broadband, its ace and really fast, i pay £25 a month too. My Dad used to have it but moved house and they couldnt get it in their new area so had to go with AOL, he absolutely hates it! He always comes to my house now just to use he PC cos im still with Blueyonder. Apparently hes always having problems with them, regarding network failure etc.

Me, I'm doomed to a lifetime of dialup (Grrrrrr) Not enough people in the catchment are to even consider broadband, Aparently 500 is the minimum figure. Seems there are only around 100 people in my area who would use it. I am only 1.5 miles out of exchange limits :(

I have been told that the current deal with Tiscali - £15.99 a month - is supposed to be good. It's for medium/heavy users and free weekend phonecalls too.

I also use Telewest Blueyonder and I highly recommend it! I'm quite a demanding user :D on the internet a lot and downloading a lot, and it copes with this perfectly well :)

Ive gone with plusnet, it was the cheapest but also the fastest for that price range (if that makes sense) also no download limit for when I venture into that area

Thanks for all your replies :)

Hope you are as happy with Plusnet as we are. Did you look at the website I posted yesterday ?. It does do well in the comparision charts.

Telewest Blueyonder here too and, like the others that have it, I find it a really good service.

yes, it was a toss up between AOL, BT and plusnet and the comparision charts on that website helped me out loads :)
if u wanted 2 go with wanadoo you could go on their website and work out the hours each day you were on the computer, the no. of videos, etc u download and it would tell you whether you should get low, active or heavy user it chose active for us and we've been on heavy for nearly a year  oh well can drop down a fiver now!
