I,m so excited.  Pepsi is so clingey today, following me around everywhere and generally being very unsettled.  Her temp this afternoon was 99.2 and tonight its down to 99.0 - could this be a sign that things are starting to happen.  She has also refused food for the first time.  Its strange, I,ve had 3 kids myself but I think I,m more nervous for Pepsi. Anybody else out there due shortly?

Yes, it,s our first litter too, can you tell?  I stopped up on Sat night with her because she was up and down all night.  Pepsi got more sleep than me.  I was lucky to get 3 hours.  I,m  getting a bit paranoid!  Have you started taking her temp?  Pepsis is usually between 100.7 and 99.9 and today its dropped to the lowest ever.
- By ilovemygirls [gb] Date 09.05.05 19:09 UTC
abbies temp has dropped slightly tonight its normally 37.8 c tonight its 37.1, im totally paranoid also so you are not alone

99 is the normal temp for a pregnant bitch it generally goes down to 97-98 and stays down for a good while say 12 hours or so. I have use the temp method with my litters and the pups have arrived soon after.

Any impending signs yet?  We are on day 62 today(Friday) too.  I did,nt think we,d be waiting still after the other night but pepsis actually very settled.
- By ilovemygirls [gb] Date 13.05.05 06:38 UTC
abbies been awake all night walking up and down wanting to go outside, her night temp was 36.9 c, she is sat in her box looking terriefied at the moment
- By pepsi mum [gb] Date 13.05.05 06:52 UTC
Thats sounds just like pepsi the other night.  You think 'Oh this must be it!'  get all worked up for a long day and next day she settles again.  I hope abbies okay.  It must be quite frightening for them as first time mums, wondering just whats happening to their body.  What is her normal temp in 'c'.  I,m using 'f' so it sounds alian to me.  Was it down slightly?
- By ilovemygirls [gb] Date 13.05.05 07:13 UTC
her normal temp is 37.8c, at the moment shes sleeping then she gets up goes out for a wee, back in more sleep, she looked in pain during the night 6 cups of coffee later im hypo and shes sleeping

I bet your getting really excited now then.  Is she still looking uncomfortable this morning.  Pepsi has just refused her feed.  She did,nt even want to try it, that's a first.  She,s lying belly up and the moment, I think it's the only way she can get comfortable.

Are'nt you a luckey so and so, jetting off on holiday!!   I'm just jealous as we have'nt had any holidays for four years.  Maybe we'll get away end Aug/Sept  if all goes well with pepsis pups.  She's georgous.  She is so funny, she keeps coming up to me this afternoon, tail wagging, nearly asking me to do something for her but I just can't figure out what she wants, tried food, water taking her outside in garden and still she just keeps coming up to me.  Unless it's a good tummy rub, I don't know.

I'm not jetting Off any where, Going to Devon to stay in a cottage on a 130 acre farm, in fact its the dogs holiday, the familys only going to take them on long walks, clean up after them and feed them. But they deserve it!!! Jenna has got to go through what
Pepsi is at the moment, bless them.... So we thought she could have a good holiday before hand.
Boxers would be my husbands choice, but 2 goldies is enough.

I grew up with a golden retriever, he was called Major.  He was lovely, mind that''s going back oh, thirty years ago!  The breed has probably changed a little bit since then.  He was a really dark golden colour.  I was five when we had to have him put to sleep because he was so protective of me, he attacked the post man and then the bin man when they came anywhere near the house, and when he nearly had a go at the little boy down the road that bullied me a bit, that was the final straw for my parents.  But they are a lovely kind hearted, really good with children type of dog and I still think of him to this day.   I hope you enjoy your holiday and hope everything goes well with Jenna.
