Has anybody used the Kumfi Dogalter? If so, what was it like, would you reccommed it?
At the moment I am using a Gentle Leader, which is okay, but Molly's forever trying to rub it off against my legs. It appears to ride up a bit near her eyes. I have tried a Halti, which we didn't get on with for the same reason.
Thanks for your comments.

I used it on my Aussie for a year or more. It was excellent and it stopped her pulling instantly. Training classes became enjoyable rather than a trial and walks were pleasant instead of a trial of strenght :D Eventually she didn't need it and so we stopped using it. I haven't got experience of any other head collars, so can't compare it tho' :)

The dogalter is much better at not riding up over a dogs eyes...I use one(got off ebay) and it works well

I have found if you have the genele leader adjusted properly thenit doesn't go near the eyes. Most people have the neck collar too loose. If fitted correctly it takes the nose loop behind the flews and then you should adjust the slide and close it so there is a comfortable fit without it sliding around when the lead is attached. Hope that helps.

you can always rely on a CDer to come up with a link ;)
Thank you for that, I have measured the boys and emailed all the details to work so I can give them a bell tomorrow to order ( im not too sure on the size otherwise I would have done it over the net.)
those ones certainly look better than the halti and gentle leader :)
Blondebird, have you received your Dogalters yet??
I'd be very interested in your opinion.
Cheers.

no, I ordered them yesterday so am hoping they will arrive tomorrow, I will post as soon as I have tried them :)

I have been using the Kumfi for a month or so now and it has made walking my lab so much easier. The only problem I have found is that it leaves pink marks on her nose and she keeps trying to rub it off. Other than that it has been great.

Any luck with the dogalters yet??

yep. they have both come through now. Im having trouble getting them to fit right at the moment, you can adjust different parts of it so I think its going to be trial and error before I get them right. Alfies seems ok and he is accepting it, Fagan on the other hand absolutely hates his :(
Definitely do the job though, no more achey arms, hopefully once Fagan stops trying to get his off walks will be peaceful again. They certainly look better quality than the gentle leader and halti and look more comfy :)

I don't know how you are using them, but I did use the little clip that's intended for connecting a halti to the dog's collar. I found that, before I had got Tara's adjusted correctly, she could pull her's off. You can buy the little connector from Pets At Home for a pound or two I think :)

yes ive got one of those halti clip things. Its just a case of adjusting the head collar right so it doesnt ride up into his eyes and because you can adjust the bit that goes round the face that needs to be adjusted right so it isnt too tight :)
