For those of you with an affix-
what made you choose the one you have :D

Sheer Frustration :D   I wanted my name and the name of my foundation bitch, but none of the connotations were allowed, mostly because the kay or kai had been taken by spitz breeds.  So after much soul searching, I got a map and pointed, so my Affix is the name of the place my finger landed on. :D  Thankfully I actually like it.

Well I got an affix at Crufts this year and luckily was allowed one of my top two choices :D The other name I liked was a registered TM anyway so I would have had to apply to use it and in hindsight it would have been more trouble than it was worth (it was too close to an existing affix anyway). The one I have been provisionally granted is the name of a river :)

Wanted something COLD :) At the time there ere very few Malamute affixes that had the word ICE in them, mainly they were SNOW .... since we got ours though, there seems to be a plethora of ICE ones  :D

First three letters of my Dad's two first names ........ he died when I was five.  Sounds sentimental, but as I was too young to remember much about him, was actually a cynical approach to getting my Mum 'on side' in the breeding as I was still at home then. ;) :D

M.

It's one of the old place names for where we live - also incorporates our oldet Aussie's name ;)

Wanted Rustyman as that is what my family all call me but it was too close to existing affixes, regardless of how I spelt it. So instead went for Icebreaker as that's what a Chessie will do to get into the water, any water! It also works out quite well with my TM's, cold, ice etc. One day I suppose I should actually use it! :-)

Mine begins with Tre which is Cornish for house of or home of and the rest is a combo of the names of the first two dogs that involved me in showing.

Well my parents had the Briarlow affix years ago for their Rough Collies then Shelties and finally their Pomeranian's which they still have.  Cost about £60 just to add my name onto it, the robbing so and so's :d  Now mum and I have it for our Pomeranian's and Spanish Water Dogs.  Unfortunately my parents can't remember where they got the name from.  They think that it was a name of a street when they went to show one of their first litter of pups to the owner of the sire.

Mine, very rougly translated means something red/copper/gold in hungarian, but i added an extra letter as it just didn't sound right and that happens to be a 'K' whick is what I call Kayla alot of the time and we didn't even have her when my affix was granted..spooky!! Itslong compared to some but rolls of the tongue nicely..I think :D
I've just added it to Idõ's name after having it for nearly 4 years and not using it, as I originally applied for it when we were thinking about breeding Chloe, which never happened, so I kept up the payments. It was a bit of a faff adding it mind as its in my name but he is jointly owned but its done now and it looks well posh!

My breed is known as black tigers, so when we were looking for an affix that was incorporated into it. My (now ex) husband's family used to live in India and so we used the Hindi for black 'Kala' and tiger 'bagh' and put them together to make Kalabagh. It was granted straight away.

I was not allowed any of my top choices so had to re-think!  Did not really want the one I have but I really could not think of anything else - basically its a combination of mine and my OH's names, even though many think its the name of a town down South LOL ;)

I actually like it now if it's pronounced different :)
