Hi, my name is claire and I have a beautiful 6month old mal called Kia! Since having her from the age of 12weeks she has been a picture of health, fun and loving and the pride and joy any mal owner could wish for.  Over the last 4 days kia's health has begun to deteriorate, ? reason. Firstly on day 1 whilst sleeping in the kitchen on a fairly hot afternoon kia made a really loud panting noise, quite uncontrollable for around 15 secs. She did not appear to be in any discomfort but remained off colour since (not as energetic and up to mischief like she normally is, i had been putting this down to her pouting because i have been spending alot of time with her of late as I have been off work but recently busy painting around the house, however she has not come into contact with any of this as i have been painting upstairs and after the first episode occurred.) Day 2 at bedtime after resting for around 30 mins, again the house quite warm she had another possibly? convulsion type episode, waking me from my sleep with the noise and again lasting around 15 to 20 secs. Kia appears to be awake when these episodes occur. Day 3 another 2 episodes, kia and the house had been kept cool that day which seemed to eliminate the heat theory. On taking her to the vets on day 3 he stated that her temp was runnig alittle high and her heart alittle fast but that could be environmental, other than that he couldnt find anything else wrong and told me to observe her over the next few days. Today day 4 I have been really worried about her, she appears to be really quite lethargic with the occasional short bursts of energy and has had 3 shorter episodes(5secs each) one during and the others after her morning walk, Kia also becomes fairly disorientated after these episodes. I have taken her back to the vets this evening with my concerns for her but again he was unable to find anthing physically wrong but prescribed some non steroid anti inflammatories to rule out any pain and advised me to go back after the 5 day course or sooner if she deteriorates further. Kia is fully vacinated and up to date with worming, I am unable to think of anything environmentally that could of harmed her.

Please if anyone could help with any advice Kia and I would be forever grateful, thanks claire.

Oh my god Claire I expect melody has given you some good advise, but I would definately seek the advice of a second vet. I hope you get answers to what's happening soon and please come back and let us know if everything is going to be ok. Best Wishes for you both from deeva.
