I have an 11 month old pug who is fully house trained, asking to go out to do what she has to do,but only when i am home with her.i have another dog who she adores who is 4yrs old and they get on well. The problem i have is when i am not home, whether it be for 10mins or few hours when at work, she almost always piddles and has her bowels opened in the house.I always ensure she goes before i go out so that isnt the problem.I praise constantly when she is good.I dont scold her if she has an accident, just say a firm NO but the problem is not improving.I am not sure if it is separation anxiety or is this a pug trait. Can anybody offer me advice as i am running out of ideas and floor wipes.I have tried leaving a radio on for her when i am out as advised by my vet .I have put a jumper in her bed with my scent on it,all without success.this is really becoming a problem now,so if anybody has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
                              thankyou

Hi,

Unfortunately I cannot give you any advice on how to solve this but can tell you that my friend has a 13 month old pug and is still experiencing same/similiar problems to yours.  Her dog is left for a only a few hours at a time and doesn't mess, but then, within minutes of her being home and  going out for a pee, will come into the house and poo. She does occassionally pee in the house as well.  This is  not happening all the time, there is no rhyme or reason to it and my friend is pulling her hair out with it too.

It is very possible that this is a pug trait and it would really need to be advice from experienced pug owners as to how to solve it.. sorry I cant help but take heart from it is not just you it's happening to.
