Hi I really really need your help!!!!
I love both weimaraners and dobermanns, but unfortunately I can only be owned by one of these gorgeous breeds. I need to know which breed would fit into my lifestyle best and any advice off you would be greatly appreciated.
I work part time 3 hours per day, I have 2 children 6 and 8, I am widowed so I am in the house by myself with the children and we love being out on walks.
Which of the two breeds would suit us best.
Thank you
It is possible to leave the house for a few hours when you first get a Doberpup but is not advisable as they will rearrange it when they get bored. Dobermanns need a lot of training to become good canine citizens and you should be sure that you can devote time and attention to your pup - especially when they reach that "No - why should I" stage around 10 - 12 months and you feel that everything you have done before has been a total waste of time.
I would suggest you visit people with both breeds and maybe also ask to speak to people that have their puppies as you gend to forget very quickly the different stages that pups go though (mine is currently just 14 months and a right little madam and the youngest of five)

Kerioak's comments apply equally well to Weimaraners.
Although similar in size and weight both belong to two entirely different groups of dogs.
A Weimaraner is the hardest of the gundogs, is a member of the HPR sub group and is bred to hunt and hunt it will.
They can be vocal and destructive.
Properly trained they are a joy to own, but unless you are prepared to invest a great deal of time in training and exercising an adult dog, I would consider this choice extremely carefully; rescue is full of dogs that owners found were too boisterous for them..........
