Hi folks

We've just had and 'interesting' experience. We thought we could smell gas just outside the back door where there is a pipe which leads to the gas fire in the study. Called the emergency Gas services and they said that we had a serious leak, had to have our gas supply cut off and would need the pipe replacing ASAP. The pipe had several hairline cracks and was severly  corroded due to - DOG URINE .  Our male dogs always spray just outside the back door every morning and although we rinse it down everyday the damage was obviously being done. So if anyone has outside utility pipes within spraying range check them out ;) - the bloke that came out to replace the pipe told us to paint it with a waterproof paint to prevent the problem happening again .
