Now we have the pup with us. Its fun, hes a riot, Echo is coping well. Im knackered never having had a tiny pup before. It's really hard trying to explain to a 10 year old how to do things without taking over. Brushing and cleaning his eye bags is easy to show her how and to check him when its done, but its hard to watch her missing the puddles. Im on constant watch in case she has a dolly day dream moment and trying not to take over at the same time. Shes finding it harder work than she thought, and of course she cant do it herself. Shes good at getting up and getting him out, feeding and grooming him and taking him out to see things ( in her arms).Trio is a good little pup though, he sleeps through the night and looks so proud of himself when he pees in the garden. Bless his wee paws he even goes out in the rain to pee.....

Still trying to house train Molly, she's nearly 5 months but prefers to go in the kitchen even if the back door is wide open! But puppies are wonderful fun aren't they? ;)

I can sympathise with you, In the last few years I have brought up 2 pups (separately) having had older dogs 6 months + before its quite a shock to the system :)  I am always amazed when I hear of people who propose to have 2 pups together - they must be certifiable!!

And as for standing back and allowing your ten year old to make all the mistakes (puddle-wise etc ;) ) and not rush in to help (or in my case take over!) - YOU ARE A SAINT!!  - I'm positive I wouldn't have the patience :rolleyes: but I am encouraging my 7 year old to help with my dogs with feeding, brushing and 'training' ;) he's going to want a dog sooner or later so he may as well learn it all.

Don't forget to 'waste' plenty of time just watching your new babby, they grow up too quickly in the end - sigh!

HI Missie, Trio is Boxer and hes 7 weeks old today :) He was bred by my best friend and I saw him being born, which is why we got to take him home so early. He is HUGE. Mainly white with 3 big brindle patches and some smaller black ones on his head and heels. Big Echo loves him and is very patient. Today Echo is teaching Trio to follow him and let him have toys first - theres loads of em but they want the same one :) They only see each other at mad half hour time so the pup bonds to us not to Echo. Stinkfoot is hiding in the bath. They grow so quickly were taking loads of pictures of them.

Hi lorelei, I watched Molly (leonberger) being born as she was bred by my best friend aswell! She was born on 22nd December and it was the best christmas pressie ever, even if I did buy her myself :) We've been going training on sundays for the last 3 weeks and there she is as good as gold, home, however, she's a little minx! always eating stones and whatever else she spies in the garden and my kitchen cupboards have taken a bashing from her, she's teething bless :D Maddie loves her (she's my other leo, 14 months) but Missie my bc x keeps well out of the way!
Echo and Trio ? Named after chocolate bars by any chance :)

Maddies' 'best friend' at training is a boxer, they play so well together its lovely watching them have their mad play before we get 'serious' :)
