i'm confused.... what amount of being well-behaved shoudl be expected of a dog at home indoors?

i was chatting to someone at a park this morning and we were talking about this, she said that her dog is very well behaved does not jump on furtniture and things, will settle and lay down when told and relax while she is doing something, does not barg around.  Almost the opposite to my dog, who is always moving around, well most of the time and only lays down when he wants to.  although he does not jump all over the furtniture he does sit on sofa or get up on chair to look out of window.  he will barg pass me when he wants to get somewhere or race pass me on the stairs.

i dont have a probelm really wqith this, because he is a good dog, but after talking with the lady i wondered if everyones dog was as well behaved as hers and only mine was inclined to be dennis the menace?!!!!!!!

All dogs are different! How old is your dog and how old is hers? What breed/s are they - some breeds are much more active than others. I've found most dogs are somewhere in between robotically well-behaved and hyper - they all seem to settle down more with maturity. That said, a lot of it is down to training ... ;)
