I have been reading Natural Nutrition for Dogs & Cats by Kymythy R. Schultze, in the book she says that Alfalfa and Kelp are essential parts of a raw food diet and should be given in powder form. Does anyone know where you can get these ingredients from? Ive looked on ebay and I have found Kelp only in capsual form and it looks like Alfalfa has to be grown from seeds. Another thing is Cod liver oil, is O.K. to use capsuals intended for humans?

Keepers Mix from Dorwest Herbs.

Personally I would use Fish Body Oil not Cod Liver Oil.  Mine are in capsules from Healthspan, high DHA and EPA content.  They are on the web.

You can feed in capsule or pierce and squeeze over food.

CLO contains Vitamins A & D which are fat soluble.  Vit A can be toxic in large quantities and Vit D is available via the sun.

I only give CLO occasionally during the winter when my dogs are mostly out in the dark! :D

If you are raw feeding Liver provides sufficient Vitamin A.
