Weve just spent the weekend camping, in the lovely village, of cartmell. Woody Lab was 8 months old yesterday. He has been perfect all weekend.

We went away, and I was quite apprehensive, Cause I knew Woody, would have to go on a long chain, when we where sat outside the tent. And I felt very very guilty, that we where doing the right as in keeping him chained. When we where dossing.

He has been well socialised, But as some of you know, we had a recent problem with him woofing at strange men. But not once did he woof at anyone.

We went and sat outside cafe's and pub's And everyone both on and off the campsite complimented him, on his manners and behaivour.

He and we met our first flatties, whose owners where very nice and talked to us about the breed. what beautiful dogs. Apparrantly a titbit for all you flattie owners out there. The man who runs the ferry on lake coniston. Is a breeder of them. And there is free passage on the boat. For all flatties. We will try the boat next time we go, And see if he lets labs on free as well.

And I know some you will disaprove but we met a labradoodle, who was also very nice. (but yes the owner wants to breed him, give up work and sell pups and a grand a time).

But we are so proud of him, He has been so well behaved all weekend. People have actually come up to us, and congratulated us, on such a well behaved dog.

Woody has made us very proud.

I thought things might get uncontollable at times. But hbe was excellant. And his crate was a godsend, while we set up, and pulled down camp.

Glad you had a nice break with woody, isnt it great when they behave? We honeymooned near Lake Coniston, its really beautiful, we took Max our rescue Staffy and were welcomed everywhere with open arms. Its nice to holiday somewhere where dogs are welcomed and treated so well, even in pubs and hotels :)

Is that where the Priory is ?

I visited it in 1965 :D Really enjoyed the Priory - but can't remember much else :)
I haven't been back to the Lakes since then.

Hi Daisy

Yes, what a beautiful, old church. Steeped in history. And the graves dates back hundreds of years.
