Following advice posted on this forum a while ago I switched both my dogs over to Skinners Field and Trial Crunchy and have been very pleased with it. Originally they were on Burns but it was just too costly so I wanted a cheaper alternative. I still need this alternative, however, Ive noticed that my gsd/lab has been getting what seems to be some skin issues in places mostly around his mouth but now I see he has one on his elbow. He never had this before the food so Im assuming it is this. On k9capers I see nutro adult maintenance has dropped down to £24.99 but I dont know if this would suit my dogs, they both need to be on the same or Maddy wont eat hers. Maddy is a little underweight being a typical fussy boxer so its not like she needs to loose weight and Taz has never been over weight even though hes been neutered so Im thinking maybe this is going to far? Can anyone give me some advice on food that might calm down his 'rashes' but still be good enough for both dogs? and also slightly economical at £34.99 a bag I cant afford burns as much as I like the smell of the fishy one, thanks!!

Wafcol have a hypo allerginic food also james well beloved
- By witchesmole [gb] Date 27.04.05 11:37 UTC
You could always try raw! I have just recently put my dogs on it and the older one who is 4 this year suffers with itchy red skin at times. I have found the transition was real easy and was told most allergys would clear up, and it is cheaper than most commercial foods.

Hi witchesmole i tried this with my dogs, i dont know why but my westie luicy scratched all the fair of her back and couldn't stop itching so i put her on wafcol hypo allerginic food and she seems alot better. i did hear somewhere though that thr years of toxins build up from commercial foods and it can come out that way, but i was reluctant to perserver as i dont think she would have any skin left. i might be talking a loads of bull though.

Regards Frank

james welbeloved turkey and rice will sort out the skin problems but the worlds best is from the usa its called abady  you can get it on the internet direct from the states. but also have your vet check that your dog as not got a infestation of demedex mites

I think the World's best dry dog food is Innova EVO, no grains in that AT ALL.
- By frodo [au] Date 02.05.05 12:39 UTC
EVO is a brilliant food!i brought a few bags back with me when i visited the US.This is the only commercial food i have ever fed my dogs,it came in handy when we went on on overnight trips etc. http://www.naturapet.com

I am currently in the process of organising a distributor, but it hasnt been easy.I dont hold much clout with the big guys,i am just a concerned pet owner.
If enough pet owners contacted Natura in the states,it would be much easier :)

Mccoy i wouldnt touch anything that Robert abady is asociated with :( He is no animal advocate thats for sure
And his food is pretty substandard!!
- By mccoy [gb] Date 02.05.05 16:12 UTC
you dont sound like a dog owner to me you sound like a salesman, to have personally critsised robert abadys character do you know the man or his products nice try but people on this forumwill see through your commercial attempt to attack a world class product so its back to the drawing board for you .keep it real these forums are here to help dog owners and not to confuse them or damage the reputation of companys or individuels if innoa evo is good dog feed let people know by all means and if your about to bring it over i would love a few sample bags large breed puppy..... thanx mccoy  ps you have told every one on this forum that you brought a few bags back so how many times do you have to bring a few bags back from the us to keep your dog well fed i dont think a few bags would do the trick over the life span of your dog. abady dog feed is the best just ask your dog he will know the difference between the real mccoy and the sales pitch
- By frodo [au] Date 02.05.05 22:19 UTC
Mccoy you sound like the salesman  youv'e pushed abady on just about every thread youv'e been on.

FYI i feed a mostly raw diet, but thought the EVO might be good for the odd times i'm away from home with my dogs!Even if i did feed a commercial food i wouldnt touch abady with a barge pole :)

You really have no idea what i'm talking about in regards to abady,do you??? Perhaps you should do more research on the food your feeding your dogs :)
- By mccoy [gb] Date 04.05.05 18:32 UTC
hi frodo in your first post you mentioned that you was about to import evo into the uk yes its true that i have not done any researce on evo so if it really is good can i have some stock from you to try out, and your right raw is best for any dog so you must of read my posts elsewere if you are genuine in your concearne and there is a real problem with feeding abady feeds could you tell me in private what that is my email is mccoy10012000@yahoo.co.uk  and yes i will always try to feed my dogs what is good for them so i will expect your kind reply and then you can tell me what i dont seem to know i have been on abadys site it goes to great length in putting forward its case for feeding there feeds but on the innova evo site not much to read really have you got any right ups about evo if so lets get in contact hey frodo i am really not a salesman for abady or any pet feeds company i work as a baliff for a london county court  do you live in the uk
- By frodo [au] Date 04.05.05 22:47 UTC
Hi mccoy,
Perhaps i didnt clarify properly in my earlier post :) I wont be distributing or seling the food.I am trying to find a distributor willing to bring it in to Britain, which is what i meant with "dont hold much clout" comment :) All i've done is call as many distributors as i can, sent them the natura link, the rest is up to them.Fingers crossed :D
To be honest there is not a dry food in Britain that i could 100% feed my dogs without feeling guilty about one ingredient or the other!

Robert abady has been banned from the KC! At a show he once kicked a lady and her dog because he didnt agree with a certain thing,i dread to think what this man does behind closed doors as he did this infront of the camera's for millions to see :( I have the link somewhere as to be honest it's been a long while since i read it and am a wee bit fuzzy on the details,i just have to find it :D

I have to nip out now and walk the dogs but i would like to converse with you further about this.

Talk soon i hope :)

"Robert abady has been banned from the KC! At a show he once kicked a lady and her dog because he didnt agree with a certain thing,i dread to think what this man does behind closed doors as he did this infront of the camera's for millions to see"

Did not happen that way.  A jealous owner behind Robert Abady gave their dog an attack command on Abady's dog.  Abady merely pushed the dog off his with his foot.  Apparently this jealous woman was a real nut case.  Abady did what anyone else would do to try and get the other dog off his own dog.

Greetings All,
I am a new user here from the states (Connecticut).  I own an English Setter (field type, registered Llewellin breed sire and dam).  Yes, we hunt Pheasant (both state birds and club birds).  Great dog, bred to work for the gun and it shows.  In my opinion, one of thee finest foot hunting dogs one can own.

let me know if you have any luck getting a supplier would be very interested in ordering some
- By jo english [gb] Date 28.08.05 09:03 UTC
Well  TOHME you do surprise me; this firm promotes the use of brown and white rice as an excellent carbrohidrate, something in the past you have criticised ,what makes the use of rice in this food different from other brands? in fact in most  of their food they use both brown and white rice that would appear to be the no 1 ingredient (I do agree it looks an excellent food ?) just curios on the fact you have seen fit to criticised uk firms who also use rice   or is just the latest trend -jo

Hi

I am desperate to get hold of Evo .I have contacted them yesterday but no response yet. Any news on a distributor?
- By scarlettwynter [gb] Date 05.11.09 17:19 UTC
It a food that I would dearly love to get hold of too
- By deburs [gb] Date 05.11.09 17:31 UTC
Had a reply from them:

Hi Joyce

Many thanks for the reply!  That's a big shame  - it's a big market and there's a big gap in the market here.

I'm sure you are aware that Orijen made it into the UK. I hope you can too soon.

Kind regards

Deborah

Subject: RE: call from UK?

Thank you for your interest in our EVO pet foods.  At this time it is the policy of Natura Pet Products to not do business within the EU market.  This is due to the difficult, expensive and ever changing regulatory requirements that are imposed upon American ingredient suppliers and pet food manufacturers.

We may reconsider our decision at such time that the EU regulatory environment becomes more reasonable.  I will keep your email on file and contact you should there be an opportunity to do business in the future.

I want to thank you again for your interests and I am very sorry that we cannot assist you at this time.

Subject: call from UK?

Hi there

I am trying to contact you reference an email I sent yesterday. I am trying to get hold of EVO in the UK - it seems quite a few people are actually.

Is it possible to buy it over here? I really want to start buying this.

Kind regards
- By stitch8689 [gb] Date 06.11.09 20:11 UTC
alot of the better US food companies don't want to get involved with the eu as they are busy enough in North America- Taste of the Wild is an exception, also Blue Buffalo are also clearing things for future exports. Orijen is Canadian but also available.
