Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Sporting and non sporting?
- By Guest [gb] Date 02.05.05 09:36 UTC
Hello,

I am thinking of going to a local exemption show today but am unsure as to what groups fall under sporting and non-sporting (the show has AV Puppy, AV Sporting, AV Non-Sporting and AV Open). I obviously know the standard groups ie Working, Pastoral, Gundog etc but was wondering which of these would be classed as sporting and non-sporting (I guess Gundogs are sporting but I couldn't see the rest of the groups being classified as sports.

Thanks

Sport in dogs basically means hunting, so that is all the Groups originally used for this purpose ie Gundogs, Hounds and terriers.  Everything else is non sporting (I think that all the other activities aren't considered Sport, but Games or Work :D)
