I have a pedigree Siberian Husky but he was not KC registered as his mother was over a certain age when she gave birth to the litter. I am going to take him to a Companion Dog Show but I need to know whether I can enter him in the Pedigree Classes. I have all his parents details and his ancestors. He is cross-eyed and I'm not sure whether this would be classed as a fault in the ring at a CCA show. Can anybody help?

Yes you would be able to enter him in pedigree classes at a companion show. The dogs are all judged against their breed standard so the fact that he is cross eyed may be picked up as a fault. But dont worry, one of my dogs has only got one testicle and he still gets placed :)
Thank you very much! Now all i need is a dog show near me!

Hi Keira - You should check out Obedienceuk.com - Schedules. I think there is a show in Devizes on May 22nd. Glos might be too far for you but there is a great comp. show there BH Monday at Uley
Sarah :)
I am an avid shower. Although I have now moved onto opens and occasional champ shows, I still enjoy the companion shows and would love to know where the Surrey ones are as I might be able to get to them.

Hi Greg, I would be interested in companion shows in the Surrey area (im in hampshire) could you post the details or PM me please :)

We'll definitely be at the Send show as it's being organised by our local dog club and more than likely at the other two. Just watch-out for a slightly crazy Wheaten Terrier!

Bit late in my reply but i know of a really good companion show in July but it is in the berkshire area if that is any good. It is on Sunday 3rd July at Arbour Vale School, Stoke Road, Slough. I have been to this one for the last couple of years and the trophies, prizes etc are really great. 1-7 in all classes. What i like about it is that they offer a Best Novelty in Show and a Reserve Best Novelty. It is normally the four pedigree classes but last year they had 21 fun classes and they still only charge £1 a class. I already have a schedule for this year's and they have 21 novelty classes again no change in entry fee either. There is also ringside parking. The money raised goes towards the school which is a school for children with special needs. Be quite glad to send a copy to anyone via post or email.
But contact details are Val Case 01753 571785 or 07890 003396 or Kay Williams 0175 524501. Its about 5 minutes off of Junction 6 on the M4 motorway.
