Please contact the Weimaraner Association/Weimaraner Club of Great Britain who can put you in touch with those breeders on their puppy lists who adhere to there codes of conduct/ethics by not mating a bitch prior to her second birthday, more than once in every 12 months and not more than 3 litters in her lifetime.  They also recommend that members hip score their breeding stock (breed average 13).

The latest KC breed records supplement details two bitches who have had SIX litters!  Appalling. 

Ay least one of those bitches has had approx 10 litters that I know of.  WOuldnt surprise me if the other one hadnt too.  I also know that they are docking the pups themselves but cant prove it.  Rescue has rehomed lots of puppies bred by the people who own the bitches.

Please please only buy pups from responsible breeders who ask you lots of questions and if you feel that they are asking too many indepth questions then they are probably decent breeders. Dont be put of by lots of questions from the breeders.

I know of a number of breeders docking the tails of their pups and these breeders are members of reputable associations but no one can prove it.

the kennel club says that a bitch can have up to 6 litters so even if people find this appalling there is nothing that can be done as the KC will register all the puppies from those 6 litters. To get things changed you need to lobby the KC to ask them to change it to a smaller number of litters

Ahhh ..... but then the KC wouldn't make as much money ;-), there are many things i think the KC should do but again they wouldn't make as much money.
