I have the opportunity to acquire a beautiful, porcelain Great Dane puppy.  She is light gray in color with black spots and a white line down her nose and around her neck.
I've never heard of a Porcelain Great Dane.  Is there such a classification??  I was told that they are recognized in England but not in the USA.  Please advise.
We are looking for a companion for our WILBUR - ou one year old, 37" tall, 181lb, Therapy Dog.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.  Her color isn't an issue, I was just curious.

Never heard of a porcelain. Sounds more like a mismark to me I'm afraid.

No, there's no such colour recognised I'm afraid. She sounds a bit like a blue merle, which is a mismark colour I believe. The only recognised colours are as listed in the Breed Standard. Please don't pay over the odds for a mismark ...

Sounds like a fancy name for a mismarked harlequin ie without the H gene which would turn grey patches to white if present .....so looks like a regular merle.

Harlequin is a combination of heterozygous genes so impossible to breed true consequently lots of mismarks produced alongside the true harlequins.
