Gastroenteritis isn't a transmittable disease in itself - it's a symptom (inflamed stomach and intestines -
gastro meaning 'of the stomach' and
enteric meaning 'of the intestines' with
itis meaning 'inflammation') for which you need to find the cause.
Salmonella infection does indeed cause gastroenteritis (and can take up to 5 days to develop from ingesting the infective agent), but having had it myself I can assure you that she would be feeling extrememly out of sorts if she had it. If she's happy in herself I personally wouldn't be too worried. Hopefully she'll be a lot better in the morning.
If you can find a way to stop a dog eating things it shouldn't I'd be very intrested to learn how it's done! I've never succeeded yet!
