I wish to purchase my first Westie. I have read advice about choosing a breeder but do not feel confident about selecting the right one. Are there any westie owners who could recommend a breeder from experience in the Dorset, Somerset,Wiltshire, or parts of Hampshire bordering Dorset area's? I would be vry grateful for feedback. Obviously looking for a westie which is easy to train, sociable and mild tempered!

Guest I have to point out that training, socialising and temperament whilst the breeder starts this off at a young age can be very much down to how you actually raise them yourself.  after 7-8 weeks the training really begins so you have most control over this.

You have to teach the puppy what you expect consistantly, socialise right away ( vaccinated of course) Westies I don't think are born bad tempered I think it is the mistake people often make of buying a small cute puppy and then letting it run wild, without any training :-))))

Good luck in your search. My advice is not personal but just so you are aware you are very much a big part of everything , a breeder can only do so much.
