
Hi voors, I think it depends on just how long the nails are. There comes a point when very long nails affect how a dog walks, and the dew claw curls when that one is allowed to get too long and the danger is that it might grow around and embed into the dogs flesh. Ideally nails should be short enough to NOT touch the ground when the dog is standing still.
If you're still not sure, why not let your vet or local grooming parlour take a look. The cost of having them cut would be very small.
