My dalmatian is having a phantom pregnancy, I have taken her to the vat who has given me drops for her, cut down on the protein in her food and taken away yhe toys which she has become attached too.  Today she is crying for absolutely nothing and I have just noticed reddish marks around the nipples on her stomach and chest - is this normal and what can i do about it.

She's probably crying because you have took her toys away in her eyes they are her babies, if you didn't take them away it would probably just prolong her phantom.  i'm not sure about the rash is it inflammed or hot to touch?

to be honest the rash is more like a red mark - the size of a coin - not inflammed or hot to touch and when i touch it she seems ok, how long does a phantom usually last for?, thanks

It can be several weeks before a bitch is completely back to normal after a phantom - it depends on the severity of the symptoms.
