Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / FEEDING HOW OFTEN SHOULD MUM BE FEEDING

Hello

I had some wonderful help just after my bitch gave birth to 9 pups. I need help again. I am concerned that she is not feeding them often enough. She feeds them in the night as she is shut in a room with her pups, but during the day apart from popping in and out the whelping pen to clean them she does not feed them. They all look really well shinny coats good size so I could be totaly wrong. I have been feeding them quality dried puppy food which I soak for an hour since Sat since  she doesn't feed them that often do you think this is the reason she is not feeding them now and should I leave her to get on with it.

Thanks Julie

How old are they and are they gaining weight steadily?

Hello the pups are 3 weeks 2 days. They are gaining weight but how much should they gain per day do you know.
