Before I will just say that I'm not taking the mick out of any one with this and I'm sorry if I unintentionally insult anyone.
Came across a 'pro-anorexia' website, and, well, I feel sick.
All (mainly young) people talking about how happy they are to be starving themselves and helping each other to do this. I know this is a disease but surely these sites shouldnt be legal. I mean, its not everyone supporting each other through tough times its people saying 'i threw bleach over my peanut butter to stop the temptation' and the one that made me angry the most was the one saying 'I am going to fast for 40!!!!!! days because jesus did it and I want to feel closer to him'.
Made me feel so sad and scared for anyones children that happen to come across this site and follow these people because they think its the cool thing to do :(

i agree zoe not looked at the site but i will i work at a high school as a midday and so many girls have hardly anything to eat and stand there counting calories etc i think the media has a big roll to play in this for instance look at britney spears a few weeks ago the media were slating her for looking tubby!! it turns out shes pregnant!! and even if she wasnt she certainly isnt fat!!
My best mate has anorexia at the moment, its horribel. She kept telling us she was eating etc etc but the weight kept dropping off. She went from a very healthy 10.5st to 6.11, she is just a bag of bones. Her personality has gone and she's much quieter now. She is going to see a councellor once a week and a dietician once every 3 weeks so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel, her diet started last March and got more and more serious throughout the year, its going to be a very long time before things are back to normal :(
I agree those sites should be banned, when someone is suffering from anorexia the last thing they need to be looking at is a site which encourages it! Makes me so angry. I wish more could be done to stop those kind of websites.

Saw a program about these websites a while back, it really is horrific - I remember one picture of an anorexic dancer bending over backwards - every rib was sticking out, it made me feel sick. The media does have a lot to answer for on this one I think, it's about time something was done - though I can't for the life of me think where anyone could begin to sort it out! Of course, supermodels would probably be a good starting point...
I suffered from Anorexia as a teenager quite badly( not that you can tell now)
I cant believe a site like that hasnt been banned, its like having a site where alcoholics talk about the best way to hide drink, its terrible.

I don't think anorexia is something you can just 'learn' like that. I think you have to have a certain type of character, or have a bad experience etc. Seeing some 'stick people' and a few silly quotes may make you miss a meal or two, but it takes a lot more than that to actually become anorexic so it wont affect MOST viewers :) at least I hope not.
