We have two dogs. One is a boy, Sam, who is five years old and has been castrated. The other is a girl, Poppy, also five years old but not speyed. Poppy has just finished her season (around Thursday she finished, after being on for approx 3 weeks). This is the first season she has had since we had Sam (he was a rescue). Usually, Sam is very well behaved, will wait as long as he has to before he goes out for a wee (in other words, he will wait until he goes for a walk...he tends not to go in the garden, his choice)
Throughout Poppy's season Sam was very good, didnt try anything on. Come Thursday until today, they have both been mounting each other to the extent that they are both panting. Which I thought was odd since Poppy is not in season now (I do not know all that much about dog seasons, so this may be normal for all I know!)

Now to the bit that is really worrying me. Yesterday I went into the lounge to discover Sam had wee'd in there (it was definately him as Poppy was with me upstairs at the time). He did another later on in the day, and has done two today. It is worrying us because he has never done this before, and I can only put it down to being something to do with Poppy's season. Has anybody any advice or even experience on this?

Oh, and before anybody says anything, Poppy will be speyed this year.

My bitches can be very fruity with the other bitches or neutered males when just after a season.  I think the wqee is scent marking caused by vague memories of being a whole male and wanting to mark his terrritry to claim ownership of his bitch.

I agree. Clean the wee up as best you using something not smelling of pine, proper dog mess cleaning up stuff would be good. This should stop him from wanting to repeat it. Hopefully once Poppy's season is well and truly over he will stop it completely, especially once she has been spayed. Good luck! :-)
