Hiya
I also have PCOS and was prescribed Metformin, I found that I occasionally had a bit of a dicky tummy with it. It sorted my Monthlies out tho. I managed to lose some weight, whether it was the metformin or just dieting I'm unsure. I stopped taking it a few months ago as I couldn't deal with the wind problem it gave me :( I found it very embaressing sp? as I was constantly letting rip with the noisiest parps you could ever imagine :O My other half found it highly amusing :D You might be absoloutely fine on it tho as the doctor told me it affects different people different ways. How many tablets have you been advised to take I started on one day and then the doctor upped it to 3 a day.

hi,
my other half takes these tablets because he is on the verge of being a diabetic (sp?)
i think he said it sort of breaks down the sugar so u are not taking so much in your body, not exactly sure but i know he takes it cause of the sugar levels in his body.

My hubby takes it for his diabetes without any trouble at all. I read the other day that researchers have found it seems to help prevent cancer too so may be available within a year or so for that purpose .

Hope you find that it helps you. :-)
