hi carol and all yankie owners

i have just got back on here

american cockers are the best breed ever they give you so much inside and outside of the ring all mine really love people and are always happy to be with anyone even lazy ed will be happy to chase a rabbit up the field, they always make me laugh and they act like a true gundog

rox you said Especially since one sat next to me and was really loving!  acted like one of my setters so I fell in love with them!

was that ed that sat next to you and i no when you came here your dad liked molly they have a way of getting anybody to like them they are so sweet oh and rox the picture of the red and white was one of a dog that was around years ago unfortiantly we dont see many red and whites over here now

good luck to everyone in the ring this year and i hope you have many happy wins

It was Ed at Hitchin (even if he made my nice skirt dirty!) and Molly when I went to yours, Hettie was just a mad thing!

And there's no point telling me things I already know, I never knew red and whites exsisted till you showed me that picture, you know I will never acctully own one, I love my setters to the end, fell in love (again) with an irish setter today! :) awww he was lovely, I showed the half brother (I think) of him in the challenge for the lady!

Hi,

I would love some tips on shampoos and conditioners for blacks (puppys), i,ve got about half a dozen so far but none that really excel.   My tresemme conditioner works just as well on him so far, i want a doggy one that i can truly say I love, rather than its OK.
- By gwen [gb] Date 21.04.05 08:10 UTC
Hi Helen,
We were briging it in from the USA,  will check the catalogues and let you know, as am doing an order for all sorts of stuff this week.  HAve you tried Lisa for the LAzor lites?  She has tried it on a Japanese Chin and the white came up sparkling!  Daisychain,  there are lots of different shampoos really good for Blacks,   including the Whal black one, for every day use, and lazorlites too.  however, this last one is a complete grooming system, you need 2 types of shampoo,  as well as the conditioner and finisher.  however, results are amazing!  If you want details let me know and I can PM you.
bye

Hi Gwen,

Thanks for that, i would love some ideas as regards shampoos, conditioners etc, i have typed in lazor lites on net before but all sorts of nonsense popped up (due to my incorrect spelling i guess).  I dont know what PM means but my email address is daisychainl3@aol.com if thats any help.  Please feel free to email me if you get a spare five mins :o)

Regards,

Daisy

Hi Daisy, PM means 'private message', you can send one by clicking on the persons name on the left, then clicking on 'message' and that way you can send a private message to that person,
Hope this helps!

Carol as the day draws nearer i am getting cold feet lol, i wish the day would come so i can get in that ring with him, i guess the first show is always the most daunting.   he stacked up lovely yesterday and he has got such a lovely neck to show off and good head but he wont stop playing with the lead lol...  GRR GRR.  I practise the run out in the garden with him but he thinks its a game, i need to be firm with him but one look at his lovely face and i melt LOL. :o)
- By carol_vet Date 24.04.05 10:24 UTC
Hi Daisy, don't worry I am sure you'll have a great time!and once you do show Alfie, (who sounds wonderful by the way!) you will want to show again and again!! :D
I progressed from going to the occasional show to help my friend with handling/grooming, to going to every single show we have in Ireland (not as many as UK :( but still about one per weekend) and even planning my weekend rotations in such a way that I would not miss any!! :D The more I have gone the more I have enjoyed it,people are extremely helpful, and it is just generally a great day! It is also just wounderful to see how devoted people are to their dogs, in my line of work, unfortunatly, I often come across many dogs who are unloved and badly treated, and it is always extremely sad :(
I am sure you and Alfie will both really enjoy it!!

Carol i practised the run outs today in garden to my husbands amusement, and i feel as if hes getting there slowly. I will keep you posted as to how we do and how hes coming along.

Fiona hi,

Yes Mary was thrilled (still is lol) to bits with the buff puppys win... mary liked her from the beginning when they were born. Marys black bitch pup (which she has still got, shes an adorable little babe, she really is) and my Alfie are like twins apart from the white patch on the bitches throat.  My Alfie is doing a few open shows first as i am new to this showing business and need to feel a bit more confident with it all. Mary has been so good to me i cant thank her enough. Will keep you posted :o)

Just joined this site and yes I have a buff American cocker. I also have 2 Cavaliers which I show, but my American cocker (George) never grew a proper show coat and he's a bit big for the breed too. I have shown him but he's always come last. He's lovely though, my husband loves to take him out on long hill walks and he is so affectionate and cuddly!
- By f.a.brook [gb] Date 25.05.05 16:20 UTC
have you got long hair, were you at the royal norfolk last year if so i no george i remember when you first brought him out
fiona
- By LucyD [gb] Date 25.05.05 21:11 UTC
Yes I was at Norfolk and Norwich show at the beginning of July, George was last as usual but Henry my Cavalier won the Toy Group!! I'm hopeless at names and faces I'm afraid, but nice to hear from you anyway!
- By f.a.brook [gb] Date 27.05.05 20:57 UTC
well done there i wear an orange jacket most of the time at open shows remember??
fiona
- By LucyD [gb] Date 28.05.05 11:03 UTC
Yes, I think I remember you! Just been to Bath yesterday - from the dizzy heights of BOB and Group 4 in a large group at Thames Valley, we sank to an all time low of 5th out of 5 in our class! Even poor old George could have got that!! I have George entered at Clacton to keep my Cavalier puppy company, so might see you there!
- By f.a.brook [gb] Date 29.05.05 20:54 UTC
im going to bath tomorrow with our standard and min poodle hehe everyone seems to remember me because of my orange jacket just looked at the results for bath well done dougy hes  becoming a real star

Oh that's fantastic, it's been a long hard road for Jonathan, and Baby Jane. Thank goodness they've done it.

Also, a huge congratulations to you too, Helen, would that be your first SH CH, then? That's wonderful too well done.

Dawn R.
- By YANKY2 [gb] Date 02.06.05 17:57 UTC
Hi Dawn,
Yes that is my first shch, I too have had a long run with him, as he got his first rcc at 20mths, but with an irish they are so slow to mature it feels like a life time but we got there in the end, he is only 4 1/2, he got his first cc at Blackpool last year then another in April this year at the breeders club and his third just seemed to come so quickly. I am so over the moon, I have a bitch puppy by him that is going into partnership with Sue Devlin. Im sure many of the american people will remember her, so I shall watch with interest to see how she comes on.
Helen

Hi Fiona,
My boys name is Biabreeze peer gynt at summergate shcm, I was at southern counties yesterday and took the bitch cc her 2nd, and best of breed and g3, with her, and a 2nd in junior with my american so it was a very good weekend for me, just got back home at midnight so feeling really tired today so me and the dogs are going to have a lazy day.

Helen
- By Dawn-R Date 05.06.05 15:53 UTC
Sooooo Helen, somebody's really on a roll eh? That's phenomenal !! Congratulations to you again. You must be pinching yourself to see if it's all a dream. Fantastic. :)

Dawn R.
- By YANKY2 [gb] Date 05.06.05 19:36 UTC
Hi fiona,
Dont know about pinching myself but it is a bit scary, as you know when cc are given to you and you dont expect it its brill, but a bit mind blowing at the same time, im just thrilled at what the dogs have won on their own merit, because althought I have judged I dont give cc, so wont and will never do favours, so we won for the dogs not for anything else and so we go to sleep each night with a clear head, but im am so greatfull to the judges and hopefully it will restore a lot of peoples faith in judging.
