Hi Natalie,
My favourite feeling is knowing its Saturday morning and I don't have to get up at 7 o'clock and get my teenagers sorted out for school and my four year old off to nursery for 9 o'clock complete with umpteen soft toys which we just have to show all three teachers every day :-)
Ahhh thats so sweet! Well it is from the outside looking in, our little boy is hooked on a few teddies and when he is in our bed, so are his teddies! I wouldn't mind too much but 2 of the ted's are bigger than him!

I haven't managed to get my four year old out of my bed yet. She is meant to be sharing a room with my 13 year old daughter but I haven't managed to convince the 13 year old that it is a good idea yet. The four year old goes in her room and puts her make up all over her face including mascara and then drew all over her new computer desk. She had got her own little toddler bed complete with tweenies quilt cover and pillowcase but I don't think she has even been in the bed 10 times.
We have just gotten to the point with Thomas where he will go 7/10 times through the night in his bed, but if he wakes up, I go in his bed instead of putting him in with us, it seems to do the trick because the next night he stays in his bed :) The other things we found that make the difference is, if we are painting in our house anywhere, and he smells it in the day, it knocks him out at night!!! Also last summer when it got hot for all of those 3 days ;) he had a fan in his room, and the constant noise from it seems to keep him asleep (or if he does wake up, he is that scared of it that he doesn't want to get out of bed!!!! only kidding!!!) Though we have been toilet taining this week, which I thought would upset him, it doesn't seem to have made a difference, and we are going on holiday in 8 days time so that will certainly take us back a few months!
As for the make up, I would recommend baby wipes first!!! I don't know if you can still get it from anywhere, but I used to have play make up when I was little, lovely shades of pinks and oranges but I thought it was great! You could perhaps try and get her some play high heeled shoes, and try to make her feel a bit more grown up? The other thing that might work if you don't like the idea of make up and high heels, is maybe some expensive looking bath oils that you get from the £ shops, like the ones you get your mum for mothers day!!! LOL but have like a girly night with her, orange squash in wine glass, maybe paint her finger nails if it is a weekend? Anything that would make her feel like a lady who doesn't need mummy and daddy quite so much - heart breaking I know! Listen to me, you have had more kids than me and here I am giving you advice!!!!

Hi Natalie,
I typed a big long thread to you and then for some reason I pressed the wrong button and it disappeared into nowhere, its so annoying when that happens isn't it?
Yes Rhianna was late in potty training, she was stubborn and insisted she wanted nappies not knickers. She only started to show an interest in July last year when my sisters relatives come up from Southend and they had a four year old that used to go the the toilet so she changed her mind and decided thats what she wanted to do. I was panicing a bit because she was starting part-time nursery in September and I knew they couldn't take her in nappies.
As for the play high heel shoes idea, yes that is a good idea and I bet she would love some because if I have shoes with heels on she likes to trot round in them. She sometimes has a bit of nail varnish on although on the whole she is very tomboyish and won't wear a dress for anything no matter how much I try to persuade her. She just loves her trousers. She is going to have to give in in September though because she will have to wear a school uniform.
Yes I know what you mean about lost post's! grrrr!!! :D
My sister was very tom-boyish, but when she started school and saw the other girls were wearing skirts she soon changed her mind.
Thomas has actually been very good so far, touch wood! I was waiting until he asked me about it but he never did, I had a potty down stairs in the living room that he would mess about with and sit on but never without his nappy on, then about 3 weeks ago I just told him that his nappies had ran out, so he had to wear pants, he wasn't very pleased, but I didn't give him much of a choice, he made it to the toilet once all day, (as he decided he didn't like the potty, that cost me £30 because it was the shape of a duck! :( ) and just kept having accidents, then the next day he came down with what I thought was just a sickness bug and diarhea, which turned out to be gastroentritus (I can't spell that!!!) so we had a week in and out of the hospital, with his nappy very firmly in place! I gave him a week to settle back down and started on Monday just gone.
We went into town on the bus (which he loves) and I let him choose some 'big boy pants' came home, and I told him very seriously that if he didn't start wearing pants, he wouldn't be able to go on the beach or in the swimming pool on holiday, and most importantly that he wouldn't be able to eat all of the ice-cream!!! (I am a very cruel mum!!!!) and so far we have only had one accident!! The only thing we have found is that he is either going for a 'number 2' in the morning before I have had chance to take his night time nappy off, or he waits all day till he has another nappy on at night! We have told him that everything that goes down the toilet goes off to see Nemo in the sea, but he still hasn't been on the toilet for his 'serious business'!
I hope training the puppy is as easy as this!!! LOL
Well I am off to my bed. I am so sore from playing football, I think I need to get fit before the puppy comes! And I am proud to say I have started my holiday tan a bit early! Think I am going to have to put some baby lotion on, I might see if OH is still awake he can do it for me, I am too tired now!!! LOL
Good night all, sweet dreams xxx Oh and Anna, put that glass down and get to bed!!! :D :D

Hi Natalie,
Yes I am still here, believe it or not, although the glass is somewhat empty now.
My daughter was okay at doing no 2's in the toilet when I told her to 'Wave goodbye to the poos' as we flushed the toilet. We had to do this everytime though for quite a bit and one day when she had been the window was wide open and she shouts out in her dulcet tones, 'Wave bye bye to the poo mummy' and all the neighbours got an earful because they were out in their gardens - guess who kept inside all that afternoon :-(
I am going to bed now because the wine has gone and the hamster is driving me up the wall with the noise of its wheel - why oh why do they have to be nocturnal!! At least the dog has stopped snoring now - which is a plus.
Night Night everyone (thats if anyone is still here!)

Mine is going to bed when its raining and the wind is howling !

Oooh no that scares me, I am scared of the roof blowing off in the night and the rain drenching the house. It is quite high up where I live and seems to be windy here when it is calm everywhere else. I remember a couple of years ago when we had a wooden front door and the wind was blowing that hard that the door was actually moving inwards and I was scared of going to bed, I was positive that there would be no door on in the morning. Anyway we have a UPVC one now so I don't have to worry about that. :-)
Same here Anna, We don't live on a mountain, but we are a lot higher than the town, if it is raining down in town, it will be snowing on our house, if it is a bit breezy in town it will be blowing a gale on our house. When the whole country had those gales after Christmas, I was really scared!!! Our fence in the back garden had fallen down on the first night, and on the second night, some of the tiles and mortar on the roof blew off (LOL I should really grow up one day!!! :D ) by the third night we thought that was it, we were going to wake up in the next villiage, without a roof and no house left!

Hi Natalie,
Yes its blowing a gale here today which is a shame because it is lovely and sunny with blue skies (oh well at least it will dry the washing - well thats if it doesn't end up in next doors garden!)
Its the same here with the snow, we can get a really bad snow fall here and I used to go to work in my wellies instead of my 3 inch high heels (I took my shoes with me to change into) and they all used to laugh when I got in the office (3 miles down the road) because there was no snow there. I've just took the dog all round the fields this morning and now I have got to go and pick the ratbag up from nursery school (can't wait till September when she goes to school full time YIPEE!)
I can't wait for mine to start nursery!
I'm lying actually I am dreading it, I can't stand the thought of him hurting himself, or some little bugger taking toys off him, and me not being there!!!
There is nothing like a 'Mummy cuddle' to make you feel better!
I hope you had a good walk, it is lovely here, the sun is out, blue skies all around, just a shame it isn't like that where we are going on holiday next week :(

Hi Natalie,
When does your little boy start nursery then? I wouldn't worry about him going he will probably love it, my little girl does. I am lucky if I even get a kiss or even a goodbye in the morning when I drop her off, shes off into the classroom like a rat up a drainpipe, just hope she likes school as much! Where are you going on holiday then, are you expecting it to be cold?
He starts in September, I know he will love it, just worried about me!!!
We are going to Corfu, but at the moment it is 17 degrees with scattered clouds, and it isn't getting any better this week! This time 2 years ago it was at least 24 degrees every day and bright sunshine (with thunder at night) As it is looking, it will be warmer in the UK than it will be there! :(
