Hello everyone I was just wondering if it is normal for a 10 month old bitch to be mounting my 7 year old dog, I find it very embarassing, but my older dog just seems to sit there and let her get on with it, is there anything I can do, or will she grow out of it. She is my first bitch so I don't know if she should be doing this or not!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is quite normal.  It may be that she will shortly be in season, or has she recenrtly been in?  spayed bitches indulge in this behaviour even more often in my experience.

Yes, perfectly normal. My 10 year-old spayed bitch humps her younger brother every evening after supper.

What is it about the evening meal that makes them all feel sexy? I dont add viagra as a supplement :D

i thought it might have something to do with dominance myself, my female westie does it alot to my female bullmastiff when she's getting out of hand, although i do also believe they do it for other reasons as jeangenie said maybe she is due into her first season

it is definitely funny luicey my westie should have been a bigger dog, her characters bigger than life she's great

Lets face it we all try and wear the trousers once in a while ;)   Dogs just express it slightly differently.
