doe's anyone know what we can do with our miniture dachound.
around twice a year she carries one of her toys around and will go no where without it.
we have tried the vet and have been told this is a phantom pregnancy,is there anything we can do to stop her crying.
there seems to be nothing we can do to comfort her.

I agree, I would have her neutered in a couple of months time, and it will never happen again. There are homeopathic remedies that will help her this time (costs about £5 per remedy). If you go to www.ainsworths.com and get their phone no. give them a ring and they will recommend a remedy tailor made for her. They may not be reply til Monday now though, so if she is very distressed it may be worth popping down to the chemist and getting a pot of Pulsatillax6 and give her one (crushed between 2 spoons and tipped on the tongue) four times a day til to-morrow night and then if you see an improvement drop it to 3 , then twice a day. Dont touch the tablets with your fingers, tip one onto a spoon, and if you drop one, throw it away. Dont feed her 30 minutes "either side" of giving the crushed tabley and remove her water bowl for a short time. Pulsatilla will almost certainly help, along with reducing (preferably cutting out) all meat and milk for several days. Try and take her out for walks as usual and keep an eye on her undercarraige to check she is not producing so much milk that she is uncomfortable. Do come back and let us know how she gets on.
