Hi Folks

I seem to be picking your brains a lot these days..:D

I have been doing agility since January, and we were in the newcomers class, I think we are all moving up now to pre-beginners (I think  )

Can anyone let me know how long we have to wait before we can start to do some little competitions. We have done and mastered all the equipment apart from the table and the see saw.

Also if they do competitions for newcomers, do they leave the see saw out, or do you have to master everything exactly before you take part in any competition.

I apologise if I'm being a bit thick :D

Thank you in advance !

Natasha

You can enter competitions when you feel you are ready. i dont know about the mini/midi classes but in the bottom class in standards you can get the seesaw although i havnt yet had the table. But the sure way to avoid the seesaw and the other contact equipment is to just enter the jumping classes which dont have any contacts in.
Also dont worry about the standard of your dog - at my youngsters first show he saw the first jump but much rather he did the A-frame instead and then just had fun the whoe way round the course! His next show is next weekend and after his performance at training last week i dread to think what hes going to do - but then it was raining!!!
Take a look at the agilitynet website (www.agilitynet.com) which has a page with loads of schedules which you can download.
Not sure how old your dog is but they have to be 18 months before they can compete.
