Hi, When we go walkies we often meet an elderly man with a lady Cavvy, Jake really likes her . This man always looks at Jakes nose to see if it is dry and crusty like his dog - it really seems to worry him. My father in law had a Cocker that had the same dry nose, did not seem to worry her though.
Any one seen this before - I would think it is a bit like us having chapped lips. I told him to try a little Vaseline like you might on yourself.
I remember speaking to someone from the midlands who told me about something called "Dog Oil" which they use on Greyhounds feet when they got aches and pains through racing and helped the dry pads - he said his Mother swore by it for her arthritic knees, really took the pain away - you can get it from Holland and Barratt, very cheap, I looked at it and it is made from petroleum jelly (vaseline) and rape seed oil - no additives.
Has anybody heard of this - thought it might also be good for crusty noses.
