Not sure there are any but I will probably be corrected shortly. They are truly beautiful animals but essentially wild. Why do you particularly want one as opposed to a dog?

You will need a License to keep wild animals, and I believe you have to have suitable place built in which to confine them. I say them because they are pack animals and I am not sure any zoo would consider letting you have just one. There is a wolf conservation organisation in the south (Surrey I think) but I think they only deal with Zoos or other such organisations. JH

As far as I know it is illegal to keep wild animals as pets in the UK, it is only allowed in Ireland.
You would maybe be able to get a wolf hybrid, although I would not recommend it, if you decide upon this, please do lots of research first, there are plenty of sites on the net.

You can keep anything as a "pet" just so long as you have the appropriate licence. (DWA etc)

Well unless the law has changed recently, but last I heard, a few years ago a law was passed making it illegal to keep a wild animal in the UK, hence why people released pumas etc into the countryside and why there are now many 'big cat' sightings!
I think you need a licence to keep wolf hybrids as pets, but a purebred wolf is not allowed to be kept in this country.
I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to have a Timber Wolf, you'd obviously have to get permission from the right people, but there's a woman near my area ( Carmarthenshire) who may be allowed to keep this tiger she has brought up since it was a cub,I don't think it was born in this country but she asked to bring it back with her. She put fencing all around her very large garden, but she wasn't allowed to bring it back with her because there was alot of concern as there are reports of quite a few wild cats in Wales.
It depends on what type of a community you live in I suppose.
I do hope you do find a breeder of Timber wolfs, and hope you are allowed to keep one.

No Bear........The 1976 Dangerous Wild Animal Act means you can keep an animal as long as you can comply with the strict regulations laid down in the act. The reason that the big cats were allegedly turned loose, is because people didn't want to, or couldn't comply with the licence.

..... unless you are in Northern Ireland where the law does not apply. The number of unwanted wolves there got so high that there is now a wolf sanctuary (super place), and there are unbelievably daft things like tigers living in Belfast back yards.

You will need a dangerous wild animal licence in order to keep a pure bred wolf. You will need to prove you can provide for all its needs and a safe and secure environment. This means that you probably would not be able to have one unless you had a large area in which you could keep the minimum of a pair as wolves are pack animals.

It would be very unwise to keep such an animal as a pet. They can be very dominant or so shy that they hide away. They do not train well and are very distructive!
Why not think about a Husky, Malamute or Northern inuit and save yourself they torment of a wolf.
