I've just given my dog his worming tablet, Milbemax, free from the vets when he had his booster jab 2 weeks ago, about 10 mins after he had the tablet he was sick, does he need another tablet, or would that one of worked, hes a poo eater so I really need him to wormed properly, any advice
Thanks

i wouldn't have thought the tablet would have been digested - did he erm--eat his sick Sorry but we all know dogs do ;) I would phone the vets up and tell them whats happened, they'll have had this happen before and can advise you on what to do.

No he definitely would need another one if he was sick 10 minutes after.  Our dog did this once and I phoned the vet and I think they said it would need to be down 4 or 5 hours for it to work.

I was told different sorry to be awkward! but my vet told me not to give another as enough med would have stayed in his tum

I've heard the same thing with Drontal - but it needs to be in the stomach for more than 10 mins!  If the dog is sick after about an hour, it is OK, apparently.

10 mins is really just in and out with no time for the drug to do anything!

When my dogs ate rat poison the vet said we had an hour to make them vomit and get it out of them, if they were to live. I'm sure wormer isn't absorbed any quicker than poison.
