I have a 13yr old border collie cross. He is a very active and healthy dog and does not look his age at all.

Over the weekend he lost his appetite and was a bit quiet, I took him to the vets last night.

After examination the vet told me that she suspects he has a tumor on his prostate gland, as it was very enlarged and painful. She gave him an anti testostorone (sp) injection along with antibiotics and also tablets for a week and I have to take him back next week.

I have started reading on the internet this morning which was a mistake as everything I have read is bad.

Can anyone share with me any advice or experience on this as I am desperate to do my best for him.

Just to add to this as well - He is not castrated - would this help?
