Hi all,

Just to let you know that Scooby (choc lab with IBD) is still on steroids although greatly reduced.  He has gained weight at last despite the steroids making him lose the weight.  We are now seeing a Homeopathic Vet who has put him on RMB diet (now 8 weeks) and steroids are still reducing.  The ultimate goal is to get him off steroids altogether, hopefully on diet alone although he is taking supplements that the vet has put him on.  One of them is Slippery Elm capsules (which he hates) and the other is Pet Plus powder which stinks like chinese herbal medicine but does seem to help.

All is going well especially since this time last year I was so sure I would lose him.  But with another year older (nearly 3 yrs old now) he seems to have the spring back in his step, although will never get the puppy stage truly back again but hey who wants that anyway!

Thanks for all your support over the last year - Scooby and I really appreciate it.

That is good news!!  Just shows - you do have to persevere - but things do come out right in the long run!

I'm sooooo pleased that Scoobs seems to be on the mend. He's been in my thoughts quite often, I'm glad it all seems to be calming down a bit for you. Well done for not giving up on him, give yourself a big pat on the back for keeping so positive.
