Does anyone know what size of cage is suitable at shows, ie ones that would fit into the gaps on the benches they provide

Hi I have Dobes and have recently bought a Light N Easy fabric Cage for the bench and it fits brilliantly. 24" wide by (i think) 36" front to back and it hangs over the end of the bench only by about an inch.

It is worth noting that all benches are not the same size. For instance a Newfoundland needs more space than a Cocker Spaniel. The minimum sizes allowed were published somewhere but I cant remember where. Not much help I suppose, :)

You might have to ring the Kennel Club, or one of the benching companies, to find out the minimum size for your breed. Bannerdown, or Danco will know.
