We have just reserved a 12 week old collie cross puppy at our local dogs home, we now have to wait for someone to do a home check. Does anyone know what they look for ? We have re fenced the garden, so that its secure, I work part time, and my husband works nights, so there is always someone at home, also our children are aged 12 and 14. Thanks
Hi Lyn
It was a few years ago now when i had a home check before i took home our bearded collie X irish wolfhound (sadly no longer with us). I should think not much has changed. They are really checking to make sure that you are capable of provivding a good home for you pup.ie that you dont live on the 10th floor of a block of flats that kind of thing and that you have a secure space for him to play, and can look after his needs.
From what you have said i dont think you have anything to worry about, other than having eyes in the back of your head :-) My Kai (malamute) is 12 weeks old and certainly keeping me on my toes...
Good luck Lyn let us know how you get on :-)
