I think 'thedark' was being sarcastic. But she does have a point though, whenever someone does attempt to 'air their ideas or opinions' they usually end up getting attacked if other members don't agree! :s

Hi Ana,
What we should all remember is that there are hundreds of posts and queries on this forum every day & the vast majority of them are answered without the slightest hitch, regardless of whether among those answers there are opposing views as to how an issue should be managed.  Unfortunately as with everything in life, it's always easier to remember the negatives but IMO these are rare and certainly heavily outweighed by the positive elements of this forum.  There was some trouble started intentionally a few weeks back which caused unnecessary upset to a lot of members - and equally similarly inflammatory statements have been made over the last 48 hours or so by an individual specifically to cause trouble.
We're all human and while ideally we shouldn't rise to such juvenile or malicious behaviour, occasionally emotions get the better of us :(   Please don't think this temporary blip is a true reflection of the general attitudes on this board.  Regards, Teri :)

It is a true reflection of the attitudes of people on this board!!!

Look at the John incident!!!! Then Ice Queen, she really was attacked! I've had it under three user names now, many many others find the people here very rude and aggressive. And No it is not a case of everyone straight talking and giving no frills advice, its plain bitching!!!!

Thank you to every one who replied to my request for the contact details
of the cinnamon trust.

My 2 dogs are mongrels and are very loved.
I hope we out live them, but if not a trust fund will be made for them for life, to cover food and vet bills. They are only young at 1 year & 4 years old, and I want them to go somewhere where they are wanted.

Only problem now what to do with 30 guinea pigs. I think I shall contact
the breed clubs, they are pure bred Dalmations and Tricolours
(this is where I get my Champdogs name from) and leave some money in our will for them to be taken care off.
Tricolours.

I have got 7 guinea pigs, all girls all living together in a massive hutch with run. They are great aren't they? Do you show them?
- By Tricolours [gb] Date 09.04.05 20:42 UTC
Tigerlily yes I do show them, both are difficult breeds that I keep, well I like a challenge, and like most guinea pig breeders I have to many old ones and to many boars (males). When I breed a good one, which in Dalmations always seem to be a boar, of course he will be used for breeding as well as for showing and if he produces the goods then that baby boar will be kept, and of course you have to keep the first one because he might breed another good one and so it goes on.

Dog breeders are lucky most of you dont have to have your own stud dog, you can use the best dog available for your bitch.
I wish we could do the same, but its different with G.Pigs, sows(females)
have to run with the boar for several weeks until she is looking in pig(pregnant) because its very rare to see 2 G.Pigs mating.

By for now.

God, never knew it was so complicated. It sounds like you are doing a good job though. :-)

You've raised a very good and valid subject Tricolours :)

I bet a lot of people with dogs don't stop to think what will happen to them when they die :(

I just hope that a family member or good friend will do the honours with my lot (of whatever dogs I have at the time, not meaning to be morbid) Of course I'll leave financial provision for them. Because, like Kay, I can't see me never having dogs ;)

Oh my god, yet again we have diverged from the post!!!!  Seems to be a regular occurence here.  For the original poster if you speak to your Solicitor they will have a Charities Handbook which contains all the up to date addresses for registered charities.  The new one has just come out for this year.

Having just moved house, OH and I decided to re-write our wills as Scottish law is different from English law.  We didn't have a dog when we wrote our first will, but after thinking long and hard we have decided that any dog(s) we own when we die should be returned to the original breeder (all our dogs will hopefully come from the one breeder) with a set amount of money for each dog.  We feel she would be the best person to care for/decide what happens to our dogs.

We intend to make provisions in our will for a small fairly local animal sanctuary to take our dogs if the worst happens.  It is in Horsham and run by a wonderful lady who has lots of dogs herself.  Sadly one of our dogs had to be rehomed when she could extremely aggressive with one of our other bitches and while she was with them she was really well looked after, lots of attention and walks before she was rehomed with an excellent couple.  The lady has now become a friend of ours.  I would have thought if you make enquiries in your area there may well be a similar sort of sanctuary or if you would consider Horsham then I will give you contact details.
