I had my bitch hip scored on 24th of Feb, she is a medium breed (20kg) and it cost me £170.  thsi is about normal around her, but a freind had two done for that price, so ti varies from place to place.

Depands as Barbara says on where you live you need to ring around make sure you get a vet who is experienced in doing plates for scoring as not all vets are good at doing good x rays

If you live in the yorkshire area I know of a vet who is an excellent producer of good quality plates & who will never submit poor qualitiy ones(she rarely produces them anyway)I know one other CD member who used her & she too found her not only good but helpful as well & you do not have to leave the dog all day

Here is a  link & no I do not get a comisson She has done 100's of GSDs & owners go to her from all over the country !

Moonmaiden

We went to Norton for our dogue to be hip scored and and Elbow xrayed last year and Kujoe last week we will be taking Barbie up to Jill for her hips to be done after this litter has left. I have always found the the 30 mile journey is well worth the travel, I live in Cambridgeshire to use then best vet I have had in the hip score and xrays. I have been told that some verts retain the x-rays as they say they are there own property. We were charge £179 which was for the 2 proceedurs

THinks is bed time  Lynn

We use that particular Vet Moonmaiden for our Tibetans. She is the best as far as i am concerned and i like the fact that she sends the plates through too.And will say she is pretty damned accurate with her asessment too

My first Spanish cost me £130 and the second one £95.  I think the vet forgot to put the BVA charges on the second :d  This was in Cheshire.

If you live anywhere near, Hants, theres a very good radiographer who does it, she is very good at getting the dogs positioned correctly and they are only anethatised !!, last year the charge was £40.00 per dog for hips plus the BVA charge, she too send the plates thru to you, excellent.
