Which shampoo have you used and how often do you bath?As for the colour change it sounds as if she is due for a good moult since undercoat can change colour when it 'dies'.

I've been using the pets at home one for white coats. She only gets bathed when she really really stinks or has rolled in a nasty i just bathed her today and before that about 4 wks ago.

Have a read on the shampoo bottle. If the shampoo isn't for 'coarse' or 'wire' coats it will soften and so only use a shampoo that says for either of theese types or that stipulates it will not soften.
Bathing too often can also change texture ...I have a coarse coated breed and we bath only a couple of times a year.By allowing the coat to build its own natural oils they become more resistant to dirt and water and hence stay cleaner if you see what I mean.

If the shampoo is for white coats, there could be some kind of bleaching agent in it which would alter the texture, making it softer as well as ligten the colour.

I suspect that some of your dogs coat may be in need of stripping out as it has died. Wire coats need stripping as they coat once dead doesn't usually shed easily as with normal coated breeds.

Hi
I would use baby shampoo and buy a Coat king to take out all of the dead coat out.
