A friend of mine passed on my phone no today from a lady who is looking for a puppy, the lady is a school teacher, working full time, would go home at lunch time and let puppy out (no arrangement for anyone to come in before lunch), then after lunch she would put puppy in car, take to school with her and leave puppy in car for 3hrs? then as pup would already be in car go to the beach for a run with puppy!!!!!!! I asked what would she do if it was a warm day, "would still leave puppy in car" I ask you, some people have no sense, guess whos not getting one of my pups!!!!!!! I said to her, do you realise if its a hot day,.by the time you came back to your car puppy would be dead, she did not believe me.  Would love to hear your thoughts on this one. My friend also refused her a puppy and phoned me later on as she knew I would not be interested either. Why cant buyers do research into looking after puppies, before they start to make enquiries, I just feel so sorry as she will probably end up going to a not so reputable breeder and they will sell her a pup.

hi some people got no consideration when it comes to owning a new dog they dont look into it properley they dont know anything they think ooh great a new pup wont have to look after it all the time pups need round the clock attention its just like having a new baby i have to blue merle 7mth old boys and they still need round the clock attention your time is not your own when you are a new proud owner lets hope she changes her mind

Please don't think all would be buyers are like this stupid idiot. Hopefully they are few and far between. We have a 13 month old Bichon Frise and before buying him at 8 weeks old I done a lot of homework. It took many months to read up, ask other owners, discuss with husband and be realistic that we can put the time and effort into our dog. We are at home all day so, time wise, we can offer our dog the company and excersise he deserves. It makes me so angry that some people are selfish and the only ones who suffer are the dogs.

It has taken me 7 years of waiting to finally be in a position to give a dog a good home. In that time, my accommodation and lifestyle was utterly wrong for a dog - I was working long hours, living in a flat etc. - now I have a nice house with a garden and I work from home, and I feel I can provide a loving home which is fair to a dog. I can't believe some people do not research into not only the breed they are interested, but dog ownership in general. I ask lots of questions, I read, I research, and I have waited a long time for a dog. I think people like the individual you mentioned are careless and self-centred, and see dog ownership as the ownership of a commodity rather than of a living creature.

I am amazed to hear someone working full time is considering a puppy without having any backup.  If they are so desperate for a dog and don't have any family in the house for at least some of the day, then I would suggest an adult dog not needing several meals a day and housetraining etc, that has been used to being left for short periods.  Even then she would need to employer a reputable, hopefully recommended dog crehe, walker etc and come home at lunchtime.  There are loads in our area.  As with so many people, no homework done at all - and even my suggestions would be given with some reserve.  But that type of person simply doesn't deserve a dog - they haven't thought it through at all - it sounds just like a whim and I totally agree that one must immediately say no to that sort of enquiry.
